Our Mission…

We gather, preserve, and share the TRUE stories of those who gave “the last full measure of devotion” for our freedom. We create Hero Cards and online biographies for U.S. military service members—from the Revolutionary War to the present day—who lost their lives while serving our country. Through The Grateful Nation Project, we are sharing these Heroes’ stories with students across the nation.

Our Purpose…

EDUCATE

The lessons of history can sometimes be reduced to dates and events. But the sacrifices made to purchase our freedoms are made by real people with real families…who have real stories. The Grateful Nation Project and Hero Cards are a permanent online resource—to celebrate TRUE Heroes, and teach their stories to all who have inherited the benefits of freedom.

Instill GRATITUDE

Freedom is not free. Yet we often enjoy its many benefits without thinking much about the terribly high cost. We can never repay those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in preserving for us the rights, privileges, and freedoms we enjoy today. But we can preserve their stories for future generations—and truly be “a grateful nation.”

Honor

HONOR the Fallen

As President Lincoln put it so eloquently in his Gettysburg address, we Americans are part of a great cause for which many have given “the last full measure of devotion.” The Grateful Nation Project and Hero Cards were launched to catalog and honor the sacrifices made by U.S. military members who died while serving their country.

Our Organization…

The Grateful Nation Project HC Inc. is a registered Wisconsin nonstock (nonprofit) corporation (tax exemption pending). We are organized and operated exclusively for charitable, educational, and literary purposes. We use charitable donations to fund the research, development, promotion, and distribution of fallen U.S. service members’ stories to schools and homes across the nation.
